CITY ACCEPTS 250 APPLICATIONS AT LAUNCH OF ELM CITY RESIDENT CARDS
(7/24/2007) HAVEN- The new Office of New Haven Residents reported accepting 250 applications today for the Elm City Resident Card, a municipal identification for all residents of New Haven. Residents began lining up outside of the new office shortly after 9 am today preparing to complete and submit applications for the Elm City Resident Card. The office remained open until 4 pm to ensure no one was turned away. Normal operating hours are 9am until 2pm.
In an effort to accommodate the hundreds of residents who have expressed interest in applying for an Elm City Resident Card this week, the office will adopt temporary extended hours as follows:
Wednesday, July 25 9am until 3pm
Thursday, July 26 9am until 7pm
Friday, July 27 9am until 6pm
Extended hours are for this week only.
In order to be eligible for Elm City Resident Cards applicants must show proof of identity (passport, driver’s license, birth certificate, etc…) and demonstrate that they are residents of New Haven. To prove residency, applicants must who a utility bill, lease agreement, rent receipt or other similar documents.
